PV Site Identification & Feasibility
Finding the Right Location for Solar Projects
The success of a photovoltaic project begins with selecting the right site. Factors such as grid capacity constraints, land availability, irradiation conditions, shading, environmental restrictions and regulatory limitations can significantly affect project feasibility.
A structured site screening and feasibility assessment at an early stage helps developers identify viable locations, prioritize opportunities and avoid costly development risks later in the project lifecycle.
Tools
Identification and preliminary evaluation of potential photovoltaic project locations based on spatial, technical and regulatory criteria. This includes rapid site screening and, where required, prioritization of sites using a standardized evaluation framework agreed with the client.
Typical evaluation parameters include grid proximity, land availability, irradiation levels, terrain conditions, environmental constraints and planning restrictions.
Preparation of a structured results summary including a ranked site shortlist and key evaluation parameters. Findings can be presented in a results table and summarized through a short presentation to support strategic decision-making.
Development and maintenance of an updated site screening list, allowing clients to continuously monitor potential locations and integrate newly identified opportunities into the project pipeline.
